Ryan’s Corner - What Is He Up To?

Playing a lot of economic board games - Food Chain Magnate, Acquire, Chinatown. Food Chain Magnate is basically a restaurant simulator, you hire staff, make food, market it, and sell it at a profit then have to pay your employees. It plays like multiplayer chess. Acquire is basically hotel M&A simulation - you buy shares in companies, and if they merge you get a payout. It’s actually been around for 50 years, the ruleset is simpler than Catan but it has incredible depth, and it’s actually played in the World Series of Board Games (annual Vegas boardgame tournament each year). Anyways, kind got me inspired to perhaps host a business boardgames meetup where I gather a bunch of people to play boardgames, but most are economic themed. The reason I like this theme is because they heavily interactive - you have to talk to each other to play. Not a big fan of those silent, solitaire type games.
